Wow, it's been awhile since I last posted. Things have been ever to busy. Hubby having a stroke in Oct. and opening a small shop keeps us busy. Hubby is doing great.
Now it's tax time and retreat time! Going to do a trip around the world, one I have been wanting to do for a long time.
I will post some pic's after retreat and you can see how it will turn out.
I also will post a pic of my little shop. It's only 12 x 16 and just a place to sell things that I make and a few friends since it really is not that big. But I do plan to stuff it full. I am not open during the winter months, a time to catch up. Bye for now

Time to update. Here is a applique wall quilt I did. It is done with machine applique'. I put piping on the inside edge with beads all around.

Here is my Grandson and the fifth set of twin calves born on our farm in 13 months. All heifer/Bull sets except this set which is twin bull calves.

Time to update! Here is a wall quilt I made for a customer. She has not seen it yet. I will call her tomorrow. She had me pick out the fabric, just wanted something summery and blue in it. Hope she likes it.

This month I decided to make it about our dogs, since we have been having so much fun with them, and just got our second one in Jan. They of coarse are our friends, family, and love to give us kisses... They keep me very busy also. Potty, food, water, want to play and be in the quilting studio, that is thier favorite place. When they see me open the door they are right thier to go in with me. Of coarse I have to keep that door closed or I think they would be in thier quilting!LOL
I decided to have lots of buttons and do the red thing for Feb., tied some threads around the buttons, used some foil, Satin stitch 3 sides, put yarn twisted on one side and some embelishments. Ran a strip of ribbon in two directions. ( under the buttons) That's about it. On to the next month.

Here is a Pic. of our Doxies we are having so much fun with. Thay love my Quilting Studio. We have had our red one ( Skittles) since Aug. and the black and brown ( Gator) one since Jan. 06. They are very different from each other. But we love em.........

Here is what is keeping me busy now, They love my quilting studio. These Doxies are a lot of fun. Thier names are Skittles and Gator ( puppy ).

I used Timtex , fused down fabric on it. Then embellished. I printed some Tax receipts on organza, Did some foiling, a little hand stitching with yarn, Machine thread designs, and fused the binding down. It lays nice and flat, except for maybe the buttons.

Here is a close up of my journal page, We also had a 3 rd. set of Twin calves born on our farm since June. All bull/heifer sets. I thought that was amazing. The vet did say he has seen as many as 7 sets born in a year. Ouch.

Here is my Jan. Journal page. Jan. reminds me of snow, taxes, and retreat! So this is my version of Jan. Retreat is just around the corner and will be a blast. Now, it will be on to Feb. Journal page, and I have my thinking cap on right now for that.

Northern Lakes Art Center Show

Finally finding time to post an update on my Art Show. I did manage to get 5 items sold at the show. I was really happy with that. Now it is time to buckle down do Taxes. That is what I think I will do for my Jan. journal page. But Jan. will have a happy ending and reward. ( I'll have my page done.) And I have retreat at the end of the month. Yipee.....I am going to do a Lone Star Quilt with a black background. That should be interesting. I'm gonna need alot of light....Off to do some paperwork.

OK, This time I made a challenge bad for our quilt guild fall fest quilt show. I used some of Robby Joy Elkow's designs from her new book. What fun....... I did some beading under the handles and around the circles, and a little foiling. The theme is Carry on the tradition.

Here is a self portrait ( kinda ). I do have it centered, but for some reason it would not scan that way. This is my deep thoughts look. & you can add a few years to this. It is 8.5 by 11. Way fun to do. I have 3 sisters and I think I should give them a whirl. Anyway. these go together pretty fast. I still have to put my binding on.

Here is a Quilt I finished about a month ago to enter in theCounty fair and our Fall Quilt Guild show. It is a pattern by Laura Heine, Took the class in Duluth, Mn. I did thread work around the leaves which the pattern did not call for, it was suppose to be trupunto, which was nice but I wanted to play with the threads!!! Love those Batik fabrics they have out thier for us to collect.

My design board, I have always got alot of projects going at the same time. It's that adult ADD I think. My mind seems to do better if I can have lots of creativety going. I do have the black background wall hanging finished, Now it's on to the NYB..................
